From late May until the end of the season on July 31, we fish the world-renowned glacier-fed Kenai River and the nearby Kasilof River for Chinook salmon. Known as Kings for reasons that are obvious to anyone fortunate enough to have battled one, Kings average 20-50 pounds, with many taken yearly that far surpass this. The current world record Chinook, weighing 97.4 pounds, was caught here by a good friend of the Lodge - Mr. Les Anderson - on May 17, 1985. These Chinook return annually to spawn in two overlapping runs, providing the absolute best King fishing in the world.
